Rachel Powers collected her fourth consecutive Quincy Women's City Golf Championship trophy on Sunday.
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- Former Quincy Notre Dame star and Illinois State senior Rachel Powers became only the fourth golfer to capture four consecutive Quincy City Women's Golf Championships thanks to a 4-over total 146 over the weekend at Westview, winning by 16 shots.
Rachel only trails big sister Emily for the all-time record of five straight titles.
After hoisting the trophy on Sunday Powers admitted being a bit shaky on Saturday but calming down at just the right time.
"The first round I always get nervous and shaking over the first tee but knowing everyone that I'm playing with, and we always have a good time, kind of relaxes me a little bit," she said.
"The future definitely holds golf in it, but I probably will be back next year depending on what my whole entire schedule looks like."
The only thing standing in the way of Rachel winning for the fifth year in a row, other than a competitor taking the title away from her, is when she plans to turn pro.
She will make that decision following her final season at Illinois State next spring.
