Quincy Society of Fine Arts thanks executive director Rob Dwyer

Tuesday, the Quincy Society of Fine Arts honored one of its own for his 30 years of commitment to the organization.  Dozens of people celebrated Rob Dwyer's farewell dedication as executive director of the Quincy Society of Fine Arts.  The group is dedicated to strengthen education as well as expand the economy.  Dwyer said one of his most important accomplishments was setting up the Marion Gardner Jackson Trust Arts Fund.

"And over the course of 20 years, we gave away more than $400,000 for programs like blues in the district or to the museums or to the Quincy community theatre if they could show that the arts program was important to economic development," he explained.

There's still no word yet on who will replace Dwyer as executive director.
