Engine trouble forces U.S. Coast Guard to stop in Quincy

Engine trouble forced the Coast Guard to dock at Clat Adams park Wednesday night.  The coast guard was replacing buoys when they ran into trouble.  Their home port is Keokuk but they had been out on the river all day.  Brian Cross with the Coast Guard said replacing buoys is very important for everyone who travels the river.

"The buoy's are extremely important to commercial and public traffic.  Without these buoys you have to pretty much guess where the channel is and the risk of operating on the river goes up," he said.

Cross said he's hoping to get everything fixed and head back Wednesday night.
