Lewis County Ag Fair kicks off 38th year this week

LEWISTOWN, Mo. (WGEM) -
The Lewis County Fair kicked off its 38th year this week.  Those making the trip to Lewistown were able to enjoy the carnival, animals, and learn facts on Missouri agriculture.  Officials have seen the crowds grow in recent years, but they say what makes this fair so special is the fact it's a gathering place for the community.

"I think people like to get together and the fair sometimes through the summer is the only time some of these people will see each other.  I mean they're busy with their lives and there's a lot going on and so the fair seems to be one place where you know you'll see people you haven't seen all year," said Lewis County Fair Board President Brenda Wright.

The fair runs through Sunday.
