Dozens of former Quincy University employees came together to not only stay in touch with each other but also with the school on Thursday.
The Quincy University Retired Faculty and Staff Association had its annual summer picnic, followed by a school year-end report given by President Robert Gervasi.
Gervasi says the picnic isn't just about reminiscing, but also about life long learning, for the retirees and the students.
"They come forward with proposals to improve life on campus as the University. And generally they are part of the continuing fabric of the community. And that's very important in making Quincy University a community," Gervasi said.
Gervasi says a few of the highlights of the school year was the completion of the Connie-Niemann Center for Music and launching the fundraising campaign for the Jack McKenzie Field.
