Four days after a major water main break, a section of a busy Quincy street remains closed.
City crews are still working on Harrison Street from 18th-20th streets after repairing a water main break that occurred Friday. Crews remain busy repairing the pavement, because the road buckled due to all the excess water.
However, Central Services Water Department Supervisor Van Davis say it's hard to pinpoint the reason why this happened.
"Really have no answer other than other than, you know the pipes are old," Davis said. "A lot of them were put in the early 1900's, late 1900's. And weather has a lot to do with it. Temperature up and down, no rain."
Crews hope to get the road back open Tuesday afternoon.
