HANCOCK COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Hancock County has put out the now hiring sign, looking for someone to help bring in more jobs and businesses.

The Hancock County Economic Development Corporation was formed in 2011 and has been run by volunteers. But now the group is looking to hire a director to oversee the mission.

About $100,000 has been raised and now they're looking to hire the right person to boost the community.

"We need someone who wakes up everyday thinking, breathing, working towards the betterment of the county and someone who is accountable to the board and someone who is being paid for results," Andy Bastert, Hancock Co. Economic Development Corp. Vice-President, said.

County officials are busy recruiting for the position. They hope to have someone hired within the next three months.
