MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -- With the comings and goings inside the Summit League putting together a schedule hasn't exactly been easy for Western Illinois women's basketball coach JD Gravina.
But it's finalized now and the Leathernecks start the season with an exhibition against Gravina's former team - Quincy University.
WGEM Sports spoke with Gravina, who's out of town, by phone Wednesday night and he says he's looking forward to playing the Lady Hawks.
"It's going to be really emotional especially with some of those kids that I coached, Lucy Cramsey and Kelly Buresh, those girls that I'm still close with. But at the same time I think it will be really fun and exciting and it will be a great thing to watch them and coach against them," Gravina indicated.
"It will give our players some of that nervous feeling, and that will help prepare us for our early games, because I know it will be a big game and I think we'll have a big crowd."
The Leathernecks released their complete 2013-14 schedule on Wednesday morning with an exhibition set for Halloween night against QU at Western Hall.
The regular season opener follows on November 8 at Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
In all, Western will play 15 games at home and its non conference slate includes trips to Oklahoma and Mizzou.
