Weeks before the first day of school, a group of students were back at St. Francis in Quincy learning in their new science lab.
The lab and supplies were bought with a $30,000 grant from the Tracey Family Foundation.
Students in 1st-4th grades used the lab as part of Science Camp Week, making everything from jellyfish to pop-rockets.
"Getting to know the kids and making them realize that learning isn't just about sitting around reading a book or doing whatever," said Science Teacher Shaun Carey. "You can get out, get your hands dirty and have a lot of fun doing it."
Science Lab Camp continues through the end of the week.
