Charges have been filed against the man who allegedly robbed and stabbed an elderly woman over the weekend.
According to court records, 51 year old Turhan Bowen was charged with attempted first degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and unlawful restraint. All of these are felony charges.
According to Adams County Sheriff's deputies, Bowen showed up to pay his rent to the trailer park's 82-year-old owner, Patricia Hinton, shortly before 6 p.m on Sunday. Once Bowen got inside, he locked the door behind him and demanded money.
Hinton gave Bowen $1,400 and then he demanded her jewelry.
When she resisted, Bowen allegedly stabbed her twice in the neck and left her with her mouth taped shut and her hands bound.
Deputies arrested Bowen three hours later in the 500 block of Sycamore in Quincy.
Bowen is currently scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday.
