Illinois drivers, there will soon be another specialty license plate for your choosing.
Starting Jan. 1, you can buy an American Red Cross license plate.
The plates will cost $40, $25 of which will go to a special fund designated for the Red Cross.
A few other states like Tennessee already found success with the Red Cross plates, but officials are now gauging the interest in Illinois.
"We do need to get a 1500 minimum requests for those plates before the Secretary of State will issue those and create it," said Pam Shaffer, Executive Director of the Adams County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
