Hannibal families now have two new playgrounds to choose from.

The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department held grand openings for the two playgrounds on Thursday. Kiwanis Park along Broadway features a rock climbing wall, crawl through deck and several picnic shelters.

Willow Street Park is located right behind the Willow Street church and has all new playground equipment including a suspension bridge.

There are plans to add a basketball hoop in the future.

The playgrounds have a combined cost of more than 60-thousand dollars.

Willow Street Park, which is located behind Willow Street Church, was built in 2002. Components of the Kiwanis Park playground include: chunky trekker, alpha climber, bongo perch, boulder ridge rock wall, crawl through deck, bump and glide slide, typhoon slide, arch bridge, climbing sphere and velocity climbing net.
