Pieces of Quincy history up for auction

It was history right before their very eyes - and it was all for sale.

Sunday Ewalt Auction hosted an estate sale, including property belonging to late Quincy historian Carl Landrum.

Among some of the big ticket items were some historic books no longer in print, including annals from the city of Quincy that went for over three hundred dollars. There were even two cannonballs dating back to the Civil War up for grabs. "Several people knew that they were in the Civil War, and one was over at Culver Stockton - it had been shot over there - and then the other was at Shiloh," said auctioneer Toot Ewalt.

Over two hundred people attended the event.
