Keokuk man charged with making meth near park

KEOKUK, Ia. (WGEM) -

A Keokuk man faces felony drug charges for allegedly making meth near a park.

According to the Lee County Narcotics Task Force Michael Russell, 35, was arrested August 18 in the 300 block of North Park Drive.

Russell's arrest stems from a traffic stop by the Iowa State Patrol.

He faces numerous charges including conspiracy to manufacture more than five grams of meth within 1000 feet of a public park for a second or subsequent time.

Russell faces up to 135 years in prison if convicted.
