"Be our best. Do Our Best. Expect the best."
That's the new slogan that was unveiled to teachers in the Quincy Public School District Monday.
Superintendent Steve Cobb stressed the need to change the district's overall image at Monday's 'Welcome Back Assembly.'
Cobb told teachers and staff that since becoming Superintendent in April, he's heard very negative opinions about the district itself, and the overall education offered in Quincy Public Schools.
"You're going to see a constant theme it's 'Be Our Best. Do Our Best. Expect The Best.' It is going to be a theme we're going to take one small step at a time to improve this school district," said Cobb.
Another big issue he's looking to tackle, truancy.
"It's very difficult to educate kids if they're not in school. We have been pushing it, we have looked at our discipline code, and so we're trying to make sure students are in school so we can educate them, we're only here 176 days out of the school year, and every day is very valuable," said Cobb.
Students head back to class this Wednesday.
