A New Jersey man has been arrested in McDonough County on drug charges.
McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker reports the arrest of 21-year old Ryan O'Doherty of Newtown, New Jersey, on August 16th, in a joint operation with the Sussex County, New Jersey Sheriff's Office.
O'Doherty fled from authorities in New Jersey after an incident on August 8th. McDonough County and Macomb Police surrounded the suspect's residence at 210 Cottonwood Drive, west of Macomb, after an investigation. He was arrested without incident. His arrest stems from New Jersey warrant charges of a probation violation stemming from the sale of heroin and resisting government officials.
O'Doherty will be transferred to the Sussex County Sheriff's Office next week, after waiving extradition.
