Do you have the next great idea for a business?
Well, if you live in Lee County you could get money to fuel that dream.
The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting their 2014 Lee County Business Plan Competition where they will award $5,000 to entrepreneurs with the best idea for a small business.
Officials say they want to help jump start the economy in the county.
"Small businesses employ a lot of people here in Lee County and we want to see if we can't help grow that, grow jobs through small business and we know there's a lot of great ideas, a lot of smart people here in Lee County," said regional director Bob Dodds.
You can also sign up for a 4-part class at Southeastern Community College to learn how to write a business plan.
The deadline for the competition is January 10, 2-14 and anyone in Lee County is eligible to apply.
