One man dead, another seriously injured in crash near Ft. Madison


A one vehicle accident near Fort Madison leaves one man dead and another with severe injuries.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Jonathan Selby was driving on a county road about 1 mile northwest of Fort Madison Sunday evening when he was distracted and rolled the vehicle several times.

Authorities say Selby and his passenger, 33-year-old Christopher Hines were thrown from the vehicle.

Selby later died at Blessing Hospital due to his injuries.

Hines suffered severe injuries.

A second passenger wearing a seat belt was not injured.
