Officials warn public to think about getting flu vaccine

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Believe it or not, flu season is coming around the corner and officials say you need to already think about getting your flu vaccine.

 

The Adams County Health Department will host their first flu vaccine drive on September 22nd at John Wood Community College.  Patients will also have their choice on whether they want a flu shot or a flu mist, and registered nurse Joanna Bunch said you can't afford to put this off. 

"Well a lot of people think that the flu season until later in Winter, sometime in January when in actuality what we're finding are flu symptoms coming about sometime in October and actually lasting until May," she said. 

Flu clinics around Adams County are as follows: 

September 22nd at John Wood Community College from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

September 24th at Central High School from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

September 24th at Payson Grade School from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

September 26th at Quincy Senior Center from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

October 1st at Liberty School from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

October 1st at Mendon Grade School from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
