QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- The extremely dry weather is taking a toll on young trees.
Anne St. John is with the Quincy Tree Commission. She says new trees, anything less than 15 years old, are in danger of dying if they don't get water soon. Her best advice, slowly water the tree over a long period of time rather than dumping buckets of water over the roots. A garden hose left on a slow dribble overnight will help water soak deep into the roots.
