Students at Pleasant Hill are taking physical education to the next level.
Pleasant Hill High School has started offering what it calls an advanced physical education course. Principal Ryan Lowe says the course focuses on things like weight training and agility drills.
Lowe says 30 students have enrolled in the course. The Illinois legislature is currently looking at proposals for an enhanced physical education program in all schools.
Coming up on WGEM News at Five and Six, we'll take you to Pleasant Hill High School for a look at the class, and hear from teachers and students on how they feel the class is beneficial.
