JWCC launches new associate's degree in engineering science

Is your child interested in engineering? They can now get a formal start in Quincy.

John Wood Community College unveiled its new associate's degree program for engineering science Thursday.

JWCC previously tailored certain classes as part of a pre-engineering program.

A former pre-engineering student that now interns at NASA says the program helped him in more ways than we could've imagined.

"It gave me a lot of the soft skill that most people don't have, like being able to talk to people and not being nervous...expressing my ideas in a positive way. And the education on top of it. Math skills, science skills, everything," said Sebastian Francis.

Nineteen students were previously enrolled in John Wood's pre-engineering program. They will now be part of the new engineering science program.
