Jury trial set for Keokuk man accused of attempted murder

A rural Keokuk man charged with attempted murder will face a jury trial next month.

Andrew Yerhart, 31, is accused of shooting a man in the neck Aug. 10.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says the victim was pulling his boat home on Johnson Road when Yerhart approached him on an ATV and told him to stop.

The victim continued driving and was shot through the back glass.

Yerhart is set to go before a jury trial Oct. 22.

If convicted, faces up to 25 years in prison.
