Police investigate reports of suspicious vehicle in Paloma

PALOMA, Ill. (WGEM) -

A warning to parents...

Police officials say a man in a black truck stopped a group of kids in Paloma Tuesday night.

According to police, a white male asked the kids for directions.

Officials say there's no indication the man was dangerous, but Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer says it's always good to remind your kids about how to handle a situation like this.

"It's important to tell your child, obviously don't talk to strangers. Don't approach a vehicle that strangers may be in. Hopefully, they will be walking with other kids so there is a group of them and they're not by themselves," said Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer.

Fischer says if you have any information about this incident you are urged to call the sheriff's office immediately.
