Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools see enrollment increase

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Enrollment is up again at Quincy's Catholic elementary schools.

Total enrollment for Kindergarten through eighth grades is 955 students, that's 52 more than last year.

It's the second straight year for an increase and the largest total enrollment for grades Pre-K through 8th grades since the 2006-2007 year, something Quincy Catholic Schools officials believe shows they're on the right path.

"We believe we're on the right track and have renewed people's faith and belief in Catholic education through the programs we've tried to develop and the marketing effort we've tried to undertake to get the good news out about what we have to offer at our four Catholic elementary schools," said Paul Rittof with Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools.

Total enrollment for preschool classes also saw a small increase, up six students from last year.
