Carthage Fire Department issues burn ban

CARTHAGE, Ill. (WGEM) -

Carthage Fire Chief Eric Shuman says a burn ban is now in place for the entire town.

Shuman says the ban was put in place because increased concern with wind. He said his department hasn't received a lot of calls for grass fires this summer. They just want to be safe and prevent them from happening.

The ban will continue until further notice.
