Smell of smoke lingering in Downtown Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The smell of smoke from Friday's fire at the Newcomb Hotel still lingers in the air and in neighboring buildings.

Residents at the Lincoln-Douglas Apartments had to be evacuated Friday because of the fire.

While the majority are back in their rooms Monday, they're now dealing with the smell of smoke throughout the building.

Managers say they're looking at having the building fumigated after the demolition process is complete.
