A new program at one local community college is helping students get on the right track to finding a job.
John Wood Community College unveiled their new Career Readiness Center this school year.
The center provides free, one-on-one support that includes educational and work experience assessments, workshops, and a new personality compatibility test that pairs students with job fields most suited for them.
One student says the center has already helped him find the right career track.
"At first I really wanted to be a firefighter, so it kind of changed my perspective. If I didn't have this, I'd probably still be at the first step probably just trying to figure out what career I wanted to do," said JWCC student, Lamaar Wade.
The center is also open to the public for free.
If you'd like to set up a time to use the Career Readiness center you can call John Wood Community College at 217-224-6500, or just stop by during regular business hours.
