One of Keokuk's most scenic parks is plagued with dead trees because of extreme heat this summer.
Mayor Tom Marion says there's more than a dozen dead trees in Rand Park that just couldn't make it through the hot dry weather.
The city wants to cut down the dead trees, but the cost of labor is slowing down the process.
The city is looking into planting new trees from the Keokuk Garden Club or another tree farm.
