Water main break in Quincy to halt service

Posted:
QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

A water main break in Quincy will temporarily interrupt water service for certain parts of the city.

The break occurred around 12:20 Thursday morning, and water service will be interrupted for four to six hours for residents on 16th Street (Monroe-Jefferson), and 15th-16th Madison Street.

St. James Lutheran Principal Nathan Landskroener confirmed that the school will be in session both Thursday and Friday, despite the break.

Once service is restored, a 48-hour boil order will go into effect.
