Hancock County man arrested on outstanding warrants in Iowa


A man wanted for an arrest warrant in Hancock County has been arrested in Burlington, Iowa.

Steven Bell, 24, of Lomax, was arrested Wednesday night by Burlington police. Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports that he had been wanted for aggravated vehicular hijacking, vehicular invasion, and aggravated unlawful restraint.

The warrant stemmed from an incident that happened that occurred September 6th, when he held another person at gun point and forced that person to drive him to Burlington.

Bell was also arrested on two additional warrants from Iowa for theft and criminal mischief.

Bell is now in the Des Moines County Jail awaiting extradition to Hancock County.
