Safety Awareness Day gives people a glimpse into the world of emergency responders

Do you know what emergency responders do on a daily basis?

Well, some people in Quincy got a behind the scenes look Saturday.

Restorations By Wentura hosted their annual Safety Awareness Day featuring representatives from local emergency services.

The Red Cross, Adams County Sheriff's office, Quincy Police Department and more agencies gave demonstrations about their responsibilities and how they help people.

"Just to make the motoring public and the public in general aware of what safety equipment is behind them, supporting them. First responders," said Dick Wentura.

Those who attended also got the opportunity to experience the dangers of drunk driving through a driving simulator hosted by the Illinois State Police.
