Former mayor of Keokuk dies


Former Keokuk mayor David Gudgel has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Gudgel served as mayor of the city for 8 years, from 2001 to 2009. He was also instrumental in numerous community organizations, including United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and the Keokuk Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his mother, wife, four children, and eight grandchildren.

David Gudgel was 63.
