Authorities say a semi truck driver received moderate injuries Monday afternoon after the truck he was driving flipped over west of Pittsfield.
Illinois State Police report that 52-year-old Scott Forshey, of Pittsfield, was driving west on U.S. 54 around 12:39 p.m. when he drove off the right side of the roadway and ran over several Chevron signs. When Forshey tried to get back on the road, he over-corrected causing his truck and trailer to fall on its side, blocking both lanes of the road.
U.S. 54 was closed for approximately two hours while the semi truck was removed.
Forshey was transported to Illini Community Hospital and was ticketed for improper lane usage and not wearing a seatbelt.
