McDonald's employee injured by car in parking lot

A McDonald's employee is recovering from minor injuries to her ankle after an accident with an SUV in the parking lot of the McDonald's near 13th and Broadway in Quincy Tuesday. An ambulance took the woman to Blessing Hospital.

Quincy Police Officer Luke Humke says QPD is investigating the incident and doesn't yet know if the woman was walking in front of the car when it hit her or if she was standing still.

It happened during the lunch crowd. Humke asks drivers and pedestrians to be cautious in crowded areas.

"Drivers need to watch out for pedestrians. Pedestrians also need to watch out for drivers," said Humke. "It's sometimes hard to see."

QPD isn't releasing any names or citations at this time.
