Twelve vendors came out to participate in the seventh annual Great River Grape Escape. Organizers say this year they're allowing open bottles for the first time so people will be able to enjoy more than just a little glass. Co-organizer Gordon Cantrell says this is a way to better the festival.
"A lot of other festivals have went to this type of open bottle situation and it seems to have increased sales. And people would rather buy a bottle and sit down and enjoy it with their friends," Cantrell said.
Cantrell said Midwestern wines are typically much sweeter than other wines because of the fertile soil and climate.
