QFD kicks off Fire Prevention Week at Quincy Mall Saturday


The Quincy Mall parking lot turns into a learning center Saturday, October 19 when firefighters kick off Fire Prevention Week.

Quincy Fire Department brings in its "Fire Safety House" for kids to see and Sparky the Fire Dog will be on hand to meet and greet the kids.

Kids and grown-ups alike can buy lunch from local vendors while they watch firefighters at work.

Firefighters say they plan to show just how fast a fire can take over a whole room.

The event goes from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a fire demonstrations starting at 1:00 p.m.
