Hannibal (WGEM) -- Paving work is underway on Hannibal's Main Street. Crews starting milling the street Monday and say they'll start applying asphalt soon.
Project Manager Brian Chaplin encourages drivers to allow for some extra time driving through the area, as the construction may cause some delays.
He says the project covers several streets.
"We're going to keep going," Chaplin said. "We're actually going to go all the way from North Street to South Main. That's the entire Main Street overlay. And 95 percent of the side streets also get milled and overlayed."
Chaplin says his main priority is to have the street finished by the time the Folk Life Festival starts on October 19th.
