The Hannibal man who pled guilty in August to kidnapping and sexual assault was sentenced Thursday to 25 years in prison.
According to court records, 29-year-old Joseph L. Shuck was sentenced by Judge Alesia McMillen. Shuck pled guilty Aug. 15 to aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and criminal sexual assault.
Twenty-five years was the maximum sentence allowed for Shuck.
Authorities say Shuck kidnapped and sexually assaulting two Quincy women back in May.
Shuck was scheduled to go to trial but instead agreed to a plea deal after new evidence was discovered. The plea came in light of investigators being able to access Shuck's cell phone taken as evidence during his arrest.
