CAMP POINT, Ill. (WGEM) -

The Central School District was under lockdown for just under an hour on Friday afternoon while police responded to reports of a suicidal man in the community.

Adams County Sheriff Brent Fischer said the Camp Point Police Department got a call about a suicidal person. Fischer said when police arrived at the reported location, the man was gone.

Fischer said police then advised the school to go on lockdown as a precautionary measure until the person was found.

The man was later located and placed into custody.

A secretary at the elementary school told WGEM News the school was placed on lockdown around 1:45 p.m. School officials were told everything was clear at approximately 2:30 p.m.
