Macomb woman arrested for making false police report

MACOMB, Ill. (WGEM) -

Authorities say a Macomb woman was arrested Friday for falsely reporting an assault.

Deputy Chief Eric Lenardt of the Macomb Police Department says officers were dispatched last Monday morning to a trailer in the 1600 block of E. Jackson Street. The woman who called, 22-year-old Carrie Kissick, said she was attacked by a man with a knife.

Lenardt says Kissick gave investigators a vague description of the attacker and showed them knife wounds on one of her arms.

After looking into the incident, investigators determined Kissick made the story up.

Kissick was arrested Friday, Oct. 11 and charged with disorderly conduct. She was placed in the McDonough County Jail on a $15,000 bond. She posted 10 percent later that day and was released.
