John Wood Community College introduced a new online course that encourages people to get social.
Officials say the course is great for businesses or those going into business because it covers how to grow and promote a business.
"I think there's good things about all media. But I do think you need to be in social media. That's real time information, you're getting direct feedback from customers right away. And there's also a lot of measurement tools," said Tracy Orne, the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at John Wood.
Orne says social media has become a big part of marketing.
"It's a great way to put offers online, great way to get feedback. As far as LinkedIn, if you're looking for good employees, it's a great way to network there," said Orne.
The course is a community education class, meaning you don't have to be a student at John Wood to enroll. New sessions run every month.
