Folklife festival not the end for tourism season

As the unofficial summer tourism season wraps up with the Hannibal Folklife Festival, officials say they're pleased with the year.

Hannibal Convention and Visitor's Bureau Director Gail Bryant said she's seen an increase in how many people stopped by America's Hometown.  She even noticed a difference in this year's Festival, saying they even had a waiting list for vendors.  Bryant said this isn't the end of the tourism season and they have many more things coming up in the coming months.

"There's haunted house, there's ghost tours like I mentioned.  The putter tree and then we roll it right into November and December and there's activities planned for every weekend all the way up through Christmas and then we start the new year," she said.

Bryant said she's seen thousands of people at the Folklife Festival this weekend.
