The Adams County Sheriff's Office says an home near Loraine is a total loss after it went up in flames Monday morning.
Deputy Kathy Carver says Loraine firemen responded to a fire off County Road 2900 North around 6:30 a.m. When crews arrived, the abandoned home was almost burnt to the ground, Carver said.
Carver says investigators believe the home had been on fire for at least an hour before it was called in.
The State Fire Marshal's Office was expected to arrive later Monday morning to investigate the cause of the fire.
Carver says the two-story house was part of an estate and electricity to the home was not live.
