Hannibal to ask judge to hold building owner in contempt

The city of Hannibal plans to ask a judge to hold the owner of the building at 213 Broadway in contempt of court for failing to demolish the building.

Court documents show building owner Ron Richter was ordered June 11 to either start repairs or start tearing down the structure within 10 days. That order was not fulfilled.

City Attorney James Lemon says the building continues to be a risk to the public.
