PRAIRIEBURG, Iowa (AP) - Pet owners in the eastern Iowa town of Prairieburg say someone has poisoned six of their pets with meatballs containing rat poison.
KCRG television reports (http://bit.ly/HfvXiW ) Linn County sheriff's deputies are investigating.
Pet owners say eight to 10 meatballs laced with poison were placed inside kennels and left outside some homes on East Main Street.
Dog owner Bryce Plower says his dog Gucci died early Thursday and another dog, Beckett was showing symptoms and is being watched.

Five dogs and one cat ate the tainted meat. The two dogs have died.
The pet owners are angry and say they want justice.
