Virginia hunter found after being reported missing in Pike County, Illinois
PIKE COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -
A hunter from Virginia was found safely Monday morning after being reported missing Sunday night.
Pike County Emergency Management Director Dave Greenwood says 54-year-old Richard Chapman from Duffield, Virginia was found just after 8 a.m. Monday, after being reported missing Sunday evening by a fellow hunter.
Chapman had been hunting just northeast of Detroit, Illinois, in eastern Pike County, Greenwood said. He was last heard from Sunday morning.
Crews searched from 10 p.m.-3:30 a.m., then resumed the search at daybreak, Greenwood said. Nearly 50 emergency responders from several agencies were involved in the search.
Chapman was uninjured and found disoriented, Greenwood said.
