About 100 Girl Scouts at Baldwin spent their Wednesday lunch periods going through an eight-week program.
One official said she hopes the girls will take the skills they learn and teach them to their friends.
"Positive way to say, 'you know, I don't really agree with that.' But there's another. 'Maybe if we talked about it more, you know, we could come to a consensus.' And that's what that is about. We really want them to be able to voice their opinion and not feel afraid to do that. We also want them to be able to learn how to do that in a respectful manner," said Jessica Foster, the Program Specialist for Girl Scouts of Central Illinois.
Organizers say the program has been growing since 2008. The program also uses hands-on activities to keep it exciting for the girls.
