The Hannibal Police Department is encouraging residents to double check their doors and garage entrances after a string of reports of items being taken from unlocked homes and vehicles.

Lt. Kathy Davis says some locations reported over the past two weeks include the Lake Apollo, Hummingbird, North Arch, Hafner and Stuart Street areas.

Police have received reports of wallets, purses, tools and laptop computers being taken, Davis said.
