Legion presents check to Honor Flight in honor of former passenger
A former Honor Flight passenger made a generous donation to the Great River Honor Flight. Shawn Thompson, Commander of the American Legion Post 55 in Hannibal presented the check for $3,200 in honor of one of its members. Estelle Griggsby was on Honor Flight Three back in 2011 when he was 98 years old. At 101, he is the oldest member of the post and also the oldest member to have flown on an Honor Flight from this area. "The Honor Flight to me was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had in my life" says Major Griggsby. "It was a pleasure to see how people recognize and appreciate you for services that were rendered by each one of us." Members of his family along with other legion members were there for the presentation.
